Traditional Guitar

Since the late nineteenth century, the traditional steel string guitar has been the mainstay of popular music of the times. Perhaps so, because of its portability, affordability and ease in learning to strum and produce musical sounds quickly.

Although the guitar is ideal for use in vocal and band accompaniment, it's value as a important melodic instrument should not be overlooked. Some very impressive instrumental music is preformed on traditional acoustic or electric guitar.

My students learn traditional instrumental technique, which may be applied to all styles of music. The essential rudiments of music taught, reinforce and enhance other musical studies as well. Students who wish, may participate in studio recitals and CD recording projects.

If you choose electric guitar, you will need an amplifier at home for practicing.

Learning on proper size instrument is important. Please ask your retailer for help or arrange for a sizing at my studio.

(Recommended for grade one and up).
