Piano

My earliest musical experiences were on the ivories. Although I have not done formal training in piano, I have done formal study in piano accordion and in my younger years played keyboard in performing bands.

Study on this important and beautiful instrument offers excellent preparation for future musical endeavors of every kind. Students learn piano basics and essential rudiments of music. Students have the opportunity to participate in studio recitals and in-studio audio recordings to be featured on my website.

I teach with the Alfred’s Basic Piano Library System. This is an excellent and widely used comprehensive piano method with an abundance of supportive material.

If you do not have a piano, a keyboard with at least 61 full size keys will get you started. Touch sensitive keys are preferred. A larger keyboard or piano would be needed after level 3. I do not recommend trying to learn on a toy or something with mini keys.

(Recommended for grade one and up).
