Classical Guitar

By the name, one might think it's just for classical music. Not so! Although ideally suited for this genre, it lends it self perfectly to many contemporary styles. Essentially, classical guitar is solo guitar… finger style. (Initially easier than picks for beginners)

The acoustic properties of this instrument produce a musical sound that is like a breath of fresh air. Classical guitar instrumental music is enjoyed and appreciated by just about everyone. The music is always timeless and is a worthy addition to any musician's repertoire.

My classical guitar students, who wish, have the prospect of preparing for RCM examinations and Brockville Lions Club Music Festival competitions, as well as participating in studio recitals and CD recording projects.

Learning on a proper size instrument is important. Please ask your retailer for help or arrange for sizing at my studio.

Classical guitar students must use a music stand and guitarists foot stool for correct playing technique. Theses are inexpensive and available at music stores.

(Recommended for grade three and up).
